about

One of the first 'live' appearances by Nasenbluten took place on July 31st 1993 at a university student's house party called 'Wobble'. The house located at 49 Newcomen St on The Hill in Newcastle became infamous with the surrounding residents and police after a select group of friends were initially invited and about 500 randoms turned up on the night. The 3 storey house featured a bunch of Newie punk bands playing upstairs in the loungeroom and DJs spinning wax in the kitchen. Nasenbluten set up Amiga 500's in the downstairs laundry and played an hour set to whoever found themselves in the back yard. During the following weeks the fallout with the surrounding neighbourhood was swift and fast with a residents committee unsuccessfully lobbying for the student's eviction.
A messy and legendary early 90s party at a messy and legendary Newie student house.

released July 31, 1993

This Nasenbluten set consisted of a ham-fisted attempt to copy the breakbeat hardcore and rave music coming out of the UK and Europe at the time - sampling everything from Metallica to football commentators, all tied together with rough breakbeats and sampled kick drums. None of it dated well but it stands as a document of the time, albeit a badly recorded one. It was released on cassette a week or two later, sold exclusively through Newcastle's C&C records, and circulated around Newie quite extensively during the remainder of 1993.
The recording is captured here from the original (extremely low quality and deteriorating) source cassette.
Produced and performed by Newlands/Lubinski. This was the second cassette release on the pre-Bloody Fist imprint 'dEAd GirL'.
